BOMAG – Digital Transformation and process optimization

BOMAG, a global leader in compaction technology, tackled supply chain challenges head-on by reorganizing its purchasing processes.

With geopolitical tensions and raw material shortages causing issues like material scarcity and obsolete parts, the company aimed to future-proof its operations. In order to strategically address these challenges and operate from a position of strength, BOMAG decided to comprehensively reorganise its purchasing and supply chain processes.

Project Objective

The project focused on optimizing procurement, introducing new KPIs, and digitizing processes. TSETINIS-EFESO analyzed existing processes, allocated resources effectively, and bridged gaps. Partnering with Ivoflow, they created a digital backbone, enhancing transparency and unlocking new insights crucial for strategic decisions.

Approach

TSETINIS-EFESO carried out a detailed analysis of BOMAG‘s existing processes, allocating resources to different departments and identifying gaps and overlaps. A central focus was on optimising and digitalising the way of working. In the manufacturing industry, where 60% to 70% of the total cost base is in procurement and supply chain, optimising these areas is of critical strategic importance.

To achieve these goals, TSETINIS-EFESO brought the company Ivoflow on board as a partner. The role was to act as a ‘digital backbone’. Ivoflow connected various data sources, created transparency and generated new insights that TSETINIS-EFESO used to develop concrete improvement plans. The flexibility and adaptability of the Ivoflow solution, as well as its ability to connect multiple systems in a centralised purchasing cockpit, were key factors in the successful implementation.

Results and implementation

The program led to significant efficiency gains, automating KPI calculation and spend analysis. Processes accelerated by up to 50%, offering real-time data transparency and reducing manual workload for buyers. This initiative not only boosted operational efficiency but also set the stage for integrating top-tier practices, paving the way for sustained success at BOMAG.

BOMAG initiated this project from a position of strength in order to integrate additional best-in-class approaches into the organisation, laying the foundations for future success.
